Information on Wharfedale, Yorkshire
Wharfedale is split into Upper Wharfedale, which lies within the boundary of the Dales National Park, and Lower Wharfedale, which is South of the boundary. Upper Wharfedale stretches from Bucken in the North to Addingham in the South. Lower Wharfedale contains the main settlements such as Ilkley, Otley and Pool in Wharfedale. Ilkley is the site of Ilkley Moor and its ‘Cow and Calf’ rocks, made famous by the unofficial anthem of Yorkshire ‘ Ilkley Moor Ba’that’.
