Information on Swaledale, Yorkshire
One of the most Northern Dales, Swaledale is bordered by Arkengarthdale to the North and Wensleydale to the South. It is the valley of the River Swale, and runs roughly West to East from the Cumbrian border to the town of Richmond. The dale has a pleasant road passing along the valley bottom which heads over the famous Buttertubs Pass to Swaledale near to the village of Thwaite.
