Information on Nidderdale, Yorkshire
Nidderdale is actually beyond the boundaries of the Yorkshire Dales National Park and is officially known as the Nidderdale Area of Natural Beauty. It is the Upper Valley of the River Nidd which flows through the dale before heading East to join the Ouse. It is the home to a number of reservoirs, including Gouthwaite, Scar House and Healey, and at Lofthouse, is the site of a scenic road which heads East to meet the A6108 in Wensleydale.
