Littondale is to the West of Wharfedale and is the valley of the River Skirfare. It is bordered by limestome cliffs and is one of the most scenic of the Dales. It has been settled for over 5000 years and Saxon agricultural terraces are visible in the valley. Halton Gill at the head of the dale has a spectacular single track road which heads over the moors towards Malhamdale.
